Appearance: White , amorphous powder, no odor. Cadmium carbonate occurs in the form of crystails or hexagon crystals.
Cadmium carbonate is insoluble in water but soluble in acids, also diluted. It is also soluble in solutions with high concentrates of ammonium salts and potassium cyanide. Cadimium carbonate is however insoluble in ammonia. Cadmium carbonate is mainly usde as a reagent and as a starting point for preparing other cadmium salts and pigments. It is toxic.
